Frances Owen

Frances Owen has lived in Â鶹¹ú²ú for 20 years, settling here after 11 years working in Zimbabwe and another 4 years working for UNICEF in Namibia. She qualified as a Consultant in Public Health in 2007 and worked in a variety of public health roles in the NHS and at Wiltshire Council before retiring in 2017. She remains a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and is also a Fellow of the RSA, a member of Â鶹¹ú²ú Soroptimists and a volunteer with Healthwatch Wiltshire. She facilitates Creative Writing for Wellbeing courses for the WEA and community groups in Â鶹¹ú²ú and her interests include swimming, playing Mah Jong and reading.

Frances was elected as a Public Governor for Â鶹¹ú²ú City in June 2023 and looks forward to representing the concerns and health needs of people in the area.
